AMP (Alternative Maritime Power), also known as Cold Ironing, is a system that allows a vessel to shut down its auxiliary engines while alongside and receive electrical power directly from the shore-side grid.

Key Reasons Ships Should Install AMP
- Ports and governments are increasingly restricting emissions at berth
- AMP directly eliminates NOx, SOx, PM, and CO₂ emissions while in port
- Helps vessels comply with EU, US, and Asian port regulations

Significant CO₂ and Fuel Savings
- Auxiliary engines typically consume 2–6 tons of fuel per day at berth
- AMP eliminates this consumption completely
- Results in:
- 100% fuel saving at berth
- 100% CO₂ reduction during hoteling
- Lower EU ETS exposure for port stays
- From 2030, passenger and container ships will be mandatory users of shore power in major EU ports
